Earning High Yield during a low yield economy July 18, 2002 68 out of 72 found this review helpful
A little over two years ago, I started to reposition my portfolio moving out of some stocks and stock funds and moving into money market funds and high yield bond funds.Although I am for the most part, a full time stock trader, I decided to look for something safer, with more profit in addition to but with less emphasis on stocks. I FOUND IT WITH TAX LIENS. TLC's (tax lien certificates or deed of trust) are without a doubt the safest, highest yielding investments out there. I almost bought a TLC COURSE OFF LATE NIGHT TV, but elected to buy this book instead on the recommendation of a friend. Good move. This book makes buying TLC'S easy and understandable even to the most naive to this investment.I highly recommend this book. TLC's are also covered in More Wealth without Risk. If you are interested in personal finance, I highly recommend Ordinary People, Extraordinary Wealth and The Truth about Money by Edelman and to make money in stocks, suggest any of the Wall Street Money Machine series by Wade Cook.Tax Liens are a great investment. Make The 16% Solution your guide to building wealth through this instrument.Great book
Much easier than I expected June 25, 2002 135 out of 139 found this review helpful
This book explains tax liens in such clarity that I was able to go out and buy several tax liens the very next day.And who says you have to be restricted to your home state? You can go to Iowa, Michigan or vaction spots like Arizona, Texas and Florida, bid on a tax lien and now your vacation becomes tax deductible while earning a high yield government guaranted! Or you can bid by mail. Unlike stocks, your investment is guaranteed and you may even get a nice property for 1/10 of the normal price. Get this book and start buying tax liens.
Simple, easy to understand, and VERY interesting.... May 22, 2002 88 out of 92 found this review helpful
Great book. Joel does an excellent job of keeping the topic of purchasing tax lien certificates very simple and easy to understand. With this book, I *WILL* be that much closer early retirement.
Like holding all of the tickets in a lottery May 21, 2002 128 out of 136 found this review helpful
Tax Liens are like holding all of the tickets in a lottery---you know you are going to win, either high interest or a piece of property.... This is a lot better than the stock market. In the worst case scenario, at least you get your investment back. Better is the interest you earn with these high yied certificates. Best is when you get a property for 1/10 the cost.Like holding all of the tickets in alottery, only better and better than the stock market.
Put a little TLC (Tax Lien Certificates) in your portfolio. May 5, 2002 209 out of 217 found this review helpful
Tax liens are the safest, highest yielding investment available today. In North Carolina, where I live, tax liens pay 12%. Better than CDs and better than losing money in the stock market. In Iowa, tax liens pay 24%. In Texas and Michigan, 50%.... First, tax liens are available in N.C. AND THEY ARE AVAILABLE IN MOST STATES, NOT JUST 25. Perhaps he is confusing deed states with mortgage states. Tax liens are among the safest of investments. The only real risk is if the debtor pays off the lien prematurely---you lose profits. Or if you buy a lien on a really bad piece of property. If the debtor doesn' pay off the lien, you get the home and foreclosing is not all difficult.... I highly recommend the 16% Solution and of course investing in tax liens. Obviously. Great money maker along with real estate and discounted mortgages.
