Easy Read March 29, 2007 This is truly an easy book to read regarding a tough subject matter for some. The book is written in two parts. Part one is the mortgage fundamentals; Part two covers educational & licensing requirements for the loan originators. The author explains the mortgage business thoroughly enough that a person could start off originating loans. After the conclusion of each chapter, readers are able to test their new found knowledge with a 10 question mini quiz.
I would recommend this book as precursor to anyone who is thinking of entering into the mortgage business.
A decent read. March 9, 2007 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I would recommend this book to any beginning mortgage professional. It reads like a text book and has quizzes at the end of each chapter which I appreciated.
A Good Reference Book February 26, 2007 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
There is little or no formal training demanded by most U.S. States in regard to being a Mortgage Broker. Therefore, this is a good book to have for a novice Mortgage Broker.
Outstanding Book New to the Mortgage Industry or a Veteran This Book is a Must Have! February 16, 2007 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
This book is incredible. I bought this book instead of paying four hundred dollars to take a loan originator course. I passed the Illinois Loan Originator exam. This is the most thorough book I have EVER read. I recommend this book to any one looking to get in the industry.
Good book but... January 23, 2007 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
At times it feels disconnected, especially at the beginning. Throughout the book, the author simply gives headlines describing what the following is going to be about and then goes on to elaborate on the topic that has to do with the headline. Too many times no connection is made between what was previously written and what is written now, and therefore anyone who is new to the mortgage field might feel lost at times while reading the book.
Otherwise, it's a good book to buy if you're a rookie in the mortgage business. For its price, I'd recommend it to everyone who is new to the mortgage business.
