Happy Happy B-Day To Me Speedy Delivery June 19, 2008 Fast Pack and excellent protective wrapping was much more than I expected. Was waiting, waiting for this little treasure to arrive; family and postman on high alert. Super wrap tape could have kept out the badgers. It was waiting just outside my door. Only thing missing was a big wide red ribbon. Grab the scissors. It was just in time for my big six OH MY GOLLY. Loved the book. Happy new life ahead for me. whee.
A supersales approach, but with many good ideas May 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this book on a whim and wasn't sure what to expect. I'm an author of 22 books and I sure haven't grown rich. As I began reading the book I soon became convinced that the author was a super salesman, and was promising much more than he could deliver. In particular, I was skeptical of his "write a book in 12 hours" scheme. Sure, anyone can write a book in 12 hours, but I'm not sure how publishable it would be. As I looked into the book in more detail, however, I began to see that it contained a lot of useful information. I'm not sure most of the people reading it are going to get rich quickly, but there are many good ideas in the book. For the most part they are presented in flamboyant step 1, step 2 ... fashion, with lots of white space around each point. Some of them, in fact, begin with "Secrets Ways to ...." Despite several drawbacks, the book is a good addition to any writers library. Each time I've gone through it, I've found something useful.
Well worth your time and money! May 25, 2008 THis is one of the best books I've read. I couldn't put it down...I rea through it very quickly. The format is so user friendly and before you know it - you're half way through the book! If you're seriously interested in authoring a book and haven't started writing yet...this book is incredibly useful and worth every penny -the resources in it are worth 100x the price of the book. The author provides you with the top 100 headlines, power words, niche markets and how to find a hungry market all the way to effective writing techniques. I'm so glad I ordered it. This book has no information of value. I was totally disappointed witht he book and the author. Buy anything else.
All the 5 star posts about this book are surely contrived April 25, 2008 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
How funny...I find this book about "authoring" to be a perfect example of what NOT to do. Most of the links referenced in this book do not work (they are obsolete or never existed). His step-by-step is not step-by-step. There is a checklist, which is good, but if you are looking for an easy way to follow this checklist and know what to do, well, good luck...his descriptions are all over the place and not in order, or perhpas are so laden with rhetoric, it is hard to keep track. Also, the first 15 pages or so are advertising and promoting other products, even before you know if the book shows the author knows anything!!!
Granted, I do have to say that there is good material in here...unfortunately it is mixed with a lot of useless information. So should you buy this book? I say yes, but be prepared to skip the first 15 pages until after you finish the rest of the book, and be prepared to spend a lot of time reorganizing the information by writing notes so you can see the final picture.
