1 out of 5 stars There are several better books on foreclosures   March 25, 2008

I've read umpteen books on foreclosing and this books rates in the lower 20%. As you would expect from a lawyer this book covers more about the legal and theoretical aspects of foreclosures. You can tell that the author has little day-to-day experience on the nuts and bolts of flipping houses. She ignores the nut and bolts of what comes after the acquisition. There are many better foreclosure/flipping books available. For what it covers it's decent, but you can get that and more in other books.

5 out of 5 stars Nothing left out!   June 26, 2007

The author provides a great foundation of knowledge needed to motivate and aide in the pursuit of real estate success.

5 out of 5 stars Now this is a great book!   March 15, 2007

I've read many books on the subject, and this is my favorite! This book is well written, full of great information, no word is wasted, and it's fun to read. Evans is articulate, knowledgeable, and does not weigh her book down with fluff (just to reach the expected 300 pages - as other authors do). If you're trying to learn about foreclosures, this is the book to buy!

5 out of 5 stars Easy to read and practical, too!   March 22, 2006

Unlike many "How To" books, this one does not overly simplify matters or become mired in meaningless technical jargon. Instead, the book strikes a helpful balance by providing a sense of the thought process and vocabulary necessary to make money in foreclosures - while also offering practical, useful tools (checklists, formulas, etc.) to help us readers profit.

It should also be noted that, unlike some authors on the subject, this author has personal experience with buying/selling foreclosures, which further enables readers to anticipate and deal with the real-world issues surrounding the purchase of any home. All this is accomplished in an easily readable format by an author who also takes time to help readers think through the human, ethical and moral considerations inherent in the business.

Also, if you're contemplating buying your first house, this book has a very helpful chapter/checklist to guide you. I wish I had known about it before taking the plunge myself!

This book is well worth your time and money. Read it.
