We got over 100 telephone calls. We sold our home."?John Henke, Boise, ID. "Our real estate broker was green with envy. In 5 days we got 24 bids higher than the highest bid she got us in 11 1/2 years. You're our hero!"?Elizabeth & Tim Hunter, South Berwick, ME. "I had a business opportunity I couldn't take advantage of unless I sold my home immediately. I saw your book in a bookstore and sold my home the next weekend. Thanks!"?Doug Walker, Salt Lake City, UT. "Thanks to your system I sold my home in 5 days at $1.26 million. You saved me $78,000 in real estate commission!"?V., Potomac, MD. Now in its third edition and timed perfectly to address a challenging real estate market, How to Sell Your Home in 5 Days turns the conventional on its head to present an innovative, practical, and foolproof alternative that makes the market work for you, the seller. Based on the one basic truth of free enterprise?that your home is worth exactly what the highest bidder will pay for it? this step-by-step plan shows exactly how to price your home attractively; make a timetable; write an effective ad; use buyer psychology, price points, and magic numbers to get the best price; and conduct round-robin bidding. It includes new information on the Internet?including a supporting website, www.5-day.com?the most recent testimonials, and updates to every phase of the process, from whether or not to renovate a kitchen before selling to the ins and outs of transferring ownership. Homes sold through the five-day plan sell for an average of 5% more than through conventional sales, plus, the seller doesn't have to pay a broker's fee?making this book among the best deals of the century.

Totally unconventional December 15, 2008 I think it's great:)! However, my broker made some revision in it. He thinks that it is actually misleading the consumers so he agreed to advertise it with - Home will be sold to the highest "acceptable" bidder. One of the owners felt it's also misleading the public & did not agree for me to proceed with it. However, if I didn't have a license & was a regular public, I would have tried this, just to see how much my home could take, esp. in this market.
Excellent concept, works most of the time October 25, 2008 As a broker, I've tried the principles in this book several times and while it doesn't always work, it's worth a shot. At the very least, you get generate a lot of interest in the property you are trying to auction. 5 days may be a little optimstic to sell a house, but certainly it beats the traditional method of "list and wait".
I'll definitely use this method AGAIN! August 12, 2008 In May 2007, I bought the book, read it cover to cover (it's a quick read), and implemented everything Effros recommended. We had our open house in late June, sold it during the round robin that weekend and closed in early August. It is an EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT method that I will use from now on. FYI, there is a website with a forum that is very helpful. The URL is the book's title spelled out dot com.
Worked like a charm January 18, 2008 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought this book in 2003 and used it to sell a rental house. At the time there were 5 or 6 other homes for sale on the same small street. I sold mine in 5 days while the others languished on the market (because they were over-priced) for months. Definitely recommended reading.
How to Sell a Home is a Perfect Match for Do-it-yourselfers August 26, 2007 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I had a friend who used this technique and I was amazed how it worked just like the book describes. Flocks of people turned out to see the house. He got a round-robin bidding war going on Sunday night, and he sold his house rapidly, without any unnecessary professional help, and for a good price.
This technique is match made in heaven for the do-it-yourself real estate investor.
