Mortgage Books May 25, 2008 This was one of several books I ordered as learning and reference tools as I embark on my new career as a loan officer. While I have not read any of the books from cover to cover, they are all serving me well as reference and training tools. The book was shipped in a timely manner and arrived in the condition described.
The Guide for the Guidelines June 25, 2007 This book clarified the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae guidelines for me in crystal clear steps. The quizzes were especially helpful in solidifying my understanding in a seemingly overwhelmingly complicated subject matter.
Straight to the point! May 29, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I really enjoyed this book because it was written in 'plain' language without any fluff. It was well written, the material was explained very well, and straight to the point. It doesn't promise that you will be a millionare in 45 days or anything else as crazy as that. I enjoyed it so much that I bought it for a friend as a gift!
Good but not what i thought April 5, 2007 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
This book is very good and very informative. For anyone in the mortgage business its a great text. However the title would seem to imply its more about marketing. Its really more about understanding the technical aspects of the mortgage business. They type of loans, how they work, how credit works etc. If you are looking for a great text to explain the details of the work then this is it. However dont let the title fool you. You will not find a book full of marketing strategy and techniques.
Easy Read March 29, 2007 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is truly an easy book to read regarding a tough subject matter for some. The book is written in two parts. Part one is the mortgage fundamentals; Part two covers educational & licensing requirements for the loan originators. The author explains the mortgage business thoroughly enough that a person could start off originating loans. After the conclusion of each chapter, readers are able to test their new found knowledge with a 10 question mini quiz.
I would recommend this book as precursor to anyone who is thinking of entering into the mortgage business.
